Bucharest has enormous tourism potential, and this is becoming increasingly clear as new investments emerge that blend hospitality, heritage, and modern urban experiences.

At One United Properties, we believe that cities can become true destinations when urban regeneration projects are designed not just for functionality, but also for attraction and experience.

As part of the editorial project „Orașul de mâine”, developed by Digi24 in partnership with One United Properties, we explored how mixed-use developments can reshape the image of the Romanian capital and bring Bucharest closer to the European cities that attract tourists through architecture, gastronomy, and cultural vibrancy.

“Bucharest has a strong culture, historical landmarks that attract tourists, competitive venues, great restaurants, and entertainment spots that can rival major Western cities,”

says Riad Abi Haidar, Partner and CEO of the Hospitality Division at One United Properties.

One of the flagship projects that will directly support this vision is Mondrian Bucharest, the first hotel in the Mondrian network to open in Central and Eastern Europe. Part of a larger urban ensemble, Mondrian is set to become a landmark of lifestyle, art, and hospitality in northern Bucharest. Designed as a vibrant space connected to local energy and international refinement, this hotel will attract visitors from around the world, as well as locals in search of premium urban experiences.

The project aligns seamlessly with One United Properties’ broader vision to create places that generate not only economic value, but cultural relevance as well. We aim to help Bucharest become a destination that inspires and attracts—a city where visitors return not only for historical landmarks, but for its authentic atmosphere and high hospitality standards.

With Mondrian Bucharest and the growing hospitality portfolio we are building, we are taking an important step toward shaping a more open, vibrant, and internationally visible Bucharest.
