In recent years, Floreasca district has undergone a revitalization process aimed at bringing back to the attention of residents and tourists alike, points of interest such as Lake Floreasca and the surrounding area, the park of the same name, as well as the wide range of dining and shopping experiences. Those who passed by the intersection of Mircea Eliade Boulevard and Calea Floreasca a few years ago were struck by the abandoned area where one of the symbols of Romania's industrialization, the famous Ford Factory, was located.
Forgotten after the fall of the communist regime, the area, which is home to a historic monument, has come to the attention of the developer One United Properties, which has set out to restore the Ford Hall and bring it back into the city's circuit through a large urban regeneration project under the name One Gallery. The company acquired it in 2022 with the aim of restoring and bringing it back to public use, transforming it into a vibrant destination and a must-see landmark on any visitor's agenda in Bucharest. Once the restoration work is completed, One Gallery will open as a retail and office space, a modern space that preserves its historical accents, an integral part of the multifunctional development One Floreasca City, enhancing the range of commercial services for both residents and the entire local community. One Gallery will feature 14,333 sqm of commercial space.
One Gallery will host, among other things, an exceptional food hall operated by Tomcat Hospitality. This concept aims to offer not only local experiences, but to bring a new breath to the gastronomic scene in Romania, positioning Bucharest alongside other prestigious European cities by premiering an innovative premium food hall. The food hall will become a vibrant culinary hub, attracting the local community and tourists, promoting local small businesses and offering culinary experiences enriched by performances, cultural events and interactive activities. The new space will also benefit from cutting-edge plumbing and mechanical equipment, and the building will have high-tech solar panels molded onto the roof, minimizing dependence on gas and grid power.
One Gallery will thus complement the range of services within the multifunctional development One Floreasca City, providing all residents, tenants, and neighbourhood residents with an extended array of commercial facilities. The gross development value for One Gallery is currently estimated at 100 million euros, making it the largest private investment in the restoration of a historic building in Romania.
