In 1936, Bucharest inaugurated the first Ford factory with a moving assembly line in Eastern Europe. Located in Floreasca district, Ford Româna S.A.R. assembled approximately 2,500 vehicles per year, from robust trucks to elegant sedans, powering interwar Romania until 1948, when the communist regime nationalised the plant and forced Ford out of the country.

Today, One United Properties, the leading green investor and developer of residential, mixed-use, and office real estate in Romania, is restoring this historic building and bringing it back into public use as One Gallery: a modern hub for retail, culture, and urban life, part of the mixed-use development One Floreasca City. The largest private investment in the restoration of a historic monument in Romania is, above all, an act of urban responsibility, preserving the very memory of the place.

That memory now has a tangible symbol: the company has acquired a 1939 Ford V8 Fordor DeLuxe Model 91A. While an estimated 10-12 vehicles assembled in Bucharest are believed to have survived to this day, most are mere shadows of their former glory. This Ford DeLuxe Model 91A is the only example from Romania's entire interwar production to have been fully restored to the highest standards. Found in a household in Constanța, disassembled and severely deteriorated, the car nonetheless retained its essential elements: the original chassis and body (matching numbers) and, crucially, the factory identification plate inscribed "Ford Româna S.A.R.", the only known surviving vehicle still bearing this marking in legible condition.

The restoration, carried out in collaboration with Retromobil Club Romania under the coordination of Răzvan Bădulescu, took a full year and involved a complete reconstruction, with key parts sourced from the United States to ensure compliance with the original factory specifications. The body wears the Washington Blue shade from Ford's period colour palette, and the interior has been faithfully recreated using materials and techniques true to the era.

Nearly nine decades after it was assembled at the Floreasca plant, the car will once again stand beneath the original steel beams. A historic circle, closed. With this project, One United Properties has completed yet another important step in its mission to restore the Ford Hall.
