In collaboration with Patrimonium, One United invites you to explore Bucharest's rich history through an exceptional series showcasing the iconic past and future of the Braikoff House.
The Braikoff House, dating back to the 19th century, is a significant landmark in Bucharest, Romania. Built by Dutch industrialist Jean Braikoff, the house was designed in the shape of the letter V, with a basement, ground floor, two floors, and an attic. Its exterior decorations included busts, classic vessels, and natural elements, though some deteriorated over time due to earthquakes and fires. The house has served as the headquarters for several institutions, including the Ministry of Justice. In 1900, Braikoff donated the house to his wife Maria, and it was later sold to the Royalty Company and various airlines. After the earthquake of 1977, the Fashion House was built inside the building. In 2007, One United Properties took over the historic building, renaming it One Athénée, to restore its former glory and contribute to the regeneration of Bucharest's cultural heritage.
Through this series, you can witness the outstanding transformation of the house, now known as ONE Athénée. Acquired by One United Properties, this first-rate historical monument is being restored to its original charm and splendor, including the reconstruction of the grand dome it once had.
